Grant's Hall Fort McNair

Historic site of the trial and execution of the Lincoln assassination accused conspirators at Fort McNair, DC. The courtroom was located on the 3rd floor in the Grant's Hall building, and the gallows were where the tennis courts are now. The bodies of the executed were temporarily buried on a few feet from the tennis courts. After John Wilkes Booth as killed, his body was brought here and buried until he was later moved to Greenmount Cemetery in Baltimore a few years later.
